Position Overview

Uriah Products is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Order Entry / Office Assistant to support our daily order processing and office operations.

This position is responsible for accurately entering and maintaining customer orders, reviewing order information, communicating with customers and internal departments, maintaining documentation, and assisting with general administrative functions.

The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with computer systems and spreadsheets, and able to manage multiple priorities without sacrificing accuracy. This role works closely with customer service, sales, warehouse operations, shipping, accounting, and supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enter customer sales orders accurately and efficiently into the company's ERP/order management system.
  • Review incoming purchase orders and customer requests for pricing, quantities, shipping information, part numbers, and other required details.
  • Verify order information and identify discrepancies before orders are released for processing.
  • Update existing orders as changes are received from customers or internal departments.
  • Maintain accurate customer, order, and shipment documentation.
  • Communicate with customers regarding order status, availability, shipping information, and general order-related questions.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and shipping personnel to help ensure orders are processed correctly and on schedule.
  • Communicate with sales, accounting, supply chain, and other departments regarding order issues or special requirements.
  • Assist with processing invoices, shipping documents, purchase orders, reports, and other business records as needed.
  • Enter and maintain information in spreadsheets, ERP systems, and internal databases.
  • Monitor email and respond to or route customer and internal requests appropriately.
  • Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, document preparation, and general office organization.
  • Research and correct order-entry or documentation discrepancies.
  • Assist management and other departments with administrative projects as needed.
  • Maintain professional and accurate communication with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
QualificationsRequired
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple orders, requests, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working with computers and learning business software.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and similar office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple departments.
  • Dependable attendance and professional work habits.
Preferred
  • Previous experience in order entry, customer service, administrative support, data entry, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or a similar office environment.
  • Experience working with ERP or order-management software.
  • Experience with Epicor Kinetic or another ERP system is a plus.
  • Experience working with customer purchase orders, sales orders, invoices, shipping documents, or inventory records.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role

Success in this position requires more than fast data entry. The right candidate should be able to recognize when something on an order does not look correct and investigate the issue before it becomes a larger problem.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Accurate: Carefully reviews part numbers, quantities, pricing, addresses, and order details.
  • Organized: Can manage multiple orders and requests without losing track of priorities.
  • Responsive: Communicates promptly and professionally with customers and coworkers.
  • Analytical: Notices discrepancies and asks questions rather than simply entering questionable information.
  • Adaptable: Can learn new systems, processes, products, and responsibilities.
  • Accountable: Takes ownership of assigned work and follows issues through to resolution.
  • Team-oriented: Works effectively with office, warehouse, sales, accounting, and supply-chain teams.
Work Environment

This is a full-time, office-based position with regular communication and coordination with warehouse, shipping, and other operational departments. The position involves extended periods of computer use, data entry, email communication, and working within ERP and Microsoft Office applications.
